Somehow, the 2025 Northern Michigan Fat Bike Series is almost halfway completed, but more fun will be had this weekend. The beloved Fatty Caddy fat bike race returns on February 22, extending the Series to five races in 2025.
The Series So Far
After a 2024 season riddled with cancellations and a lack of snow, this year’s Northern Michigan Fat Bike Series, presented by Brick Wheels and Keen Technical Solutions, has had perfect conditions. The Series kicked off in Boyne City on January 11 before heading to Mt. McSauba one week later for the Dog Man Challenge. Racers have a short break before the Eh Winter Enduro on February 1; then, it’s south to Traverse City for the North American Vasa Fat Bike Race on February 9.
Fatty Caddy Tags Back In
After being held at a different location last year, Fatty Caddy returns home to the Cadillac Pathway this year on February 22. Sponsored by Einstein Cycles, the event offers a 1-hour Sport race and a 2-hour Elite race to cap off winter and get riders geared up for the busy spring campaign. For many riders, it’s an ideally timed fitness check ahead of gravel races like the Lowell 50 and Barry-Roubaix, not to mention the Yankee Springs Time Trial, all in the span of a few weeks.
Registration for Fatty Caddy is open.
Events like Fatty Caddy are perfect reasons to check out the Cadillac Pathway. The trail system has enjoyed the addition of seven miles of new singletrack, a beautiful pavilion, and exceptional maintenance over the past few years. If you haven’t been there recently, you need to check it out!
