Report Downed Trees and Other Issues

Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association's dedicated trail crews remove downed trees, limbs, and other trail issues just about as quickly as we can! We rely primarily on trail users to let us know where trail blockages are through proactive reporting. Whenever there's a trail blockage or other safety issue, please send us an email to report@nmmba.net.

Report A Trail Issue

What To Include In Your Email

Let us know where we're going and what we're dealing with! Try to include as much detail as possible, especially the following:

Location: Use trail markers (between Post 10 and 11, for example) to get us close! It's also helpful to include screen shots or mileage information from your bike computer or GPS. Letting us know the problem is 6 miles in from the VST parking lot is a huge head start and may influence how we try to access that section of trail.

Scale of the issue: How big we talkin' here? Let us know the approximate diameter of the tree (or trees!) so we can bring the appropriate tools and muscle-power! If possible, include a photo - those say a thousand words.

While NMMBA strongly encourages trail users to leave the heavy lifting and chainsawing to us, we know some folks handle these issues themselves. If you address a large trail issue, please let us know! This saves our volunteers time otherwise wasted going out to find a tree or limb that's already removed!

Who's Tackling These Trees?

NMMBA's trail crews are entirely volunteer. When we receive a trail report, we coordinate among several trail crew regulars who determine who can get their first and how many helping hands they'll need. You can help, too; become a NMMBA member or, if you're visiting, Donations to help keep the good riding going!
