Mud, Sweat and Beers Bike Race
Always the first Saturday of May, Mud, Sweat and Beers Mountain Bike Race is the official start of mountain bike season in Northern Michigan. For more than a decade, MSB has signaled the true beginning of spring for riders from across the state. The race uses part of the VASA Pathway and Traverse City Trail Network to weave a fast, following, and surprisingly technical event that offers up a challenge for racers of all abilities.
MUD, SWEAT AND BEERS - MT. HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER
MSB is the largest fundraiser of the year for the non-profit ski hill that serves as the start and finish venue. Mt. Holiday is a registered non-profit dedicated to offering outdoor fun year-round with skiing, tubing, a rope course, and trails. The Mud, Sweat and Beers Bike Race is a crucial part of maintaining this important community-building organization.
THE COURSE
The Mud, Sweat and Beers course is now a fixed route that will alternate directions every year. The course was designed in cooperation with MSB, NMMBA, and the Michigan DNR to provide a fun, sustainable course that will hold up well in any conditions with hundreds of racers riding and racing it every spring.
