Report: Report #25

Date: 2/25/23

Time: 6:00a

NWS Forecast here.

Cadillac Pathway

Fatty Caddy Fat Bike Race is Saturday starting at 10am.  This is the last race of the Short’s Brewing Fat Bike Series.  More details can be found at https://www.racefattycaddy.com/

WST: Groomed Friday at noon.  Rating conditions a 7 out of 10.  Working to get the snow to adhere to the ice.  The sun came out today and hoping that will help.  In the meantime everything is rideable but soft.  Snow is dry and the colder temps are not helping getting it to pack in.  Watch your corners and an occasional rut that was left over from last weekend warm up.  Next groom is at 7am on Saturday morning and Sunday morning.

XC: Groomed Friday night and the groomer reported with “perfect” as his report.  I don’t think I need to elaborate there.  😉

Walking loops:  Groomed Friday morning.  We have 3 different walking loops.  There are 2 – 1 mile loops that start from main trailhead and a 3 mile loop that starts from the WMISD at Crosby and 13th street.

Note the trailhead parking is going to be very full on Saturday.  For the non-racers you can always park at the Wexford Missaukee Intermediate School District and access the Cadillac Pathway from the west side (hilly side).  The race directors invite EVERYONE to the after party that will start at 11am – there will be free Belgium Waffles and hot coffee.

Crystal Mountain

All trails have been groomed 2/23

The Multi-User Trail, Fat Tire Trail and Betsie River Pathway have been groomed.

An important reminder trail users please ‘think before you sink’ creating ruts in the trail can lead to long lasting damage.

Make sure to stop by the Park At Waters Edge to get your trail day pass, the new map! and get the most up to date trail conditions.

Leelanau State Park
Groomed 2/23 In great condition

Traverse City

Groomed 2/24 by Paul and Heath, we broke the hitch on our big compaction drag so we are down a tool. Don't worry we have others we can use until we get it fixed and running again in the next day or two. The trails are in excellent shape heading into the weekend. Probably the best riding of the season so GET OUT and RIDE! We will groom as needed Saturday and Sunday.
