NWS Forecast here.
Grooming was just completed on all trails. Conditions are a bit soft in spots use low pressure. Bikes on the trail will help conditions. The trail will set up slow with these temperatures. Next groom tomorrow.
The lake affect snow we received on Thursday and continue to receive today is adding to the available base we will have. The plan is to groom Friday evening and continue to compact the snow for a base. Crews will be out Saturday as well to continue to develop the base. As always, the best way to improve the conditions is riders and snowshoe traffic. We are close to having the complete system dialed in, the east side of Seeley road is soft but improving with every groom and the west side is firm with a few soft spots due to some drifting, but that will be taken care of this evening and tomorrow during the day.
The Cross country ski trail has had its first groom with this snow and tracks are set, there has been limited traffic as of this morning but we expect that to change this weekend.
Will start grooming shortly and again Saturday morning. Expect a good but slightly soft base.
Leelanau State Park Northport
