Report: Grooming update
NWS Forecast here.
Will and I went out and groomed yesterday afternoon. There is a firm base under a couple of inches of new powder. Get out while you can.
Please take the time to fill out the Grooming Survey if you have not already.
Chuck reports that the trail is setting up very firm, and we should have excellent winter riding conditions this weekend.
I expect the trail to setup tonight and be good to ride until about noon tomorrow, then the same for Friday. We will most likely groom one more time before the weekend.
We expect the groomed trail (about 5 miles now) to be soft until Friday then good this weekend!
Well the trail is slowly deteriorating into and icy crust, some slick and some textured. With no fresh snow in the forecast it appears that the snow bike season is drawing to a close.

NWS Forecast here.
Good Morning! It's another cold morning out on the trail, get out and ride before the temperature rises above freezing. The trail is in great shape we are holding off grooming until we get enough snow to improve conditions.
Heath groomed the entire system yesterday except Yeti's which is closed for the year. Mike Coleman will head out this evening after today's snow to groom again.
Expect good riding with soft snow over ice, so be careful if you venture out.
Yeti's is a winter only trail that the DNR allowed us to groom this winter. If when they inspect it this year and they find no signs of a trail we will be allowed to continue to have floating winter trails. If not we will be forced to have a two to three year process to get expansions done.
So please do not ride Yeti's now or over the summer and I will add a few more miles of floating trail next year.
Well the weather is sure doing a number on our trails. Thanks to Jason Lowetz, Tim Reicha and Mike Walters we will have a race at Timber Ridge tomorrow, complete with a party with Short's brew after. You can sign up for the Snow Angel Race until 10pm tonight or onsight tomorrow until 9:45am. Sign-up, come out to Timber Ridge and racers will get to finish with a cold Hashtag. This will be a one of a kind race you won't want to miss.
Come and get it while you can, it looks like rain on Monday. Conditions today and Saturday should be all-time, with firm berms for turns and low rolling resistance throughout the course. COME ON UP!!
Patrick made it out to smooth out some deep footprints and add texture before the temperatures dive overnight. We expect the surface to be hard and fast tomorrow and most of Saturday. If the forecast for the weekend is accurate, the surface may soften later Saturday into Sunday. Use caution on the corners and even some straight aways along ridges where the lip has deteriorated leaving some off camber drop offs.
Looking at the long term forecast, we expect that this will have been the last groom of the season. We will keep you posted if that changes.
Thank you so much for supporting the grooming efforts at Glacial Hills. We truly hope that you have been able to enjoy the trails this winter!
