If you end up riding on dirt make sure that with all the rain and still frozen ground you are not leaving any muddy ruts and avoid areas where that might happen. It may be a good time to take your fatbike out for a gravel ride.
Join NMMBA and TART for the Groomers Appreciation Party on March 16 from 5:30p-7:30p at Blue Tractor. Come by and thank your favorite groomers whether they groom ski trail or singletrack we'll all be there.
I will be heading out with the North American Vasa snowmobile to groom the Singletrack I will be grooming at least the outer loop and the Timber Ridge Trail. Expect good riding conditions after noon today.
A special thanks to Jim Heffner and North American Vasa for letting us use their snowmobile.
With little new snow and the warm temperatures on the way for the next several days it looks like riding in the morning will be the best time to ride if nighttime are below freezing. If we have deep ruts from riding when it is soft we may not be able to groom them out.
Both TART and NMMBA will be heading out to do a final groom on the trails starting about 9pm tonight. Please stay off the courses until after the races tomorrow. The ski racing should be done by 3:00pm and the Fatbike race by 4:30pm. If you are looking for a place to ride and are not racing both Cadillac Winter Sports Trail and Glacial Hills are groomed and ready for you to enjoy. Go try something new and have fun.
Since the freezing rain we have received about 3" of light, fluffy snow. The all trails have been packed, and with today's chilly temperatures it should setup nicely. For now expect packed but soft over a skating rink, but nothing a low pressure fat tire can't handle. Thanks again to Short's Brewing Company for partnering with us to keep grooming alive her in Destination Bellaire! #getoutside #explore #paddlesandpedals #shortsbrewing
