Report: TC WST Report #45
NWS Forecast here.
Good evening fat bikers,
Chuck went out today and was able to finally get the cold dry snow to start to bond. He was excited to say that he was able to remove 90% of the groove from the heavy traffic Sunday after Trevor's groom. The trail is looking like we will have perfect conditions for this weekends Vasa Fat Bike Race.
By the way it's ok now for all of you to sign-up for the Short's Fat Bike Race Series. This year there are three unique races all based out of Timber Ridge in Traverse City.
The first is the King Vasa 42K and 18K races on February 10 they feature all the old favorites like Logger's Run, Riley's and the Vasa trail along with a few new sections of singletrack that includes Yeti's Revenge winter only trail. (Beware there have been Yeti sightings.)
Next up on February 24 is the Snow Angel 50K which features a 4 Lap 50K race along with a 25K for mortals. Chet Bearclaw is sure to be on hand for this one. The trail winds through the woods and uses sections of the NMMBA system that have never been raced on before like Red Line. This will be one fast race with a nearly flat course be prepared to keep the throttle on the whole race.
Finally, we have the infamous Beard of Zeus on March 3rd. This event is held in conjunction with Suds and Snow festival and promises to be a blast. The new course will again this year be a short track race with timed lengths of 45 or 90 minutes.
Of course all there events will have Short's Beer at the finish line.
